Redistricting for 2024-25 School Year
APPROVED ATTENDANCE ZONES FOR THE OPENING OF PRAIRIEVILLE HIGH SCHOOL
The new Prairieville High School is scheduled to open in Fall 2024. Designed to relieve growing student enrollment across the district and create a new high school feeder system, the Ascension Parish School Board will redistrict attendance zones. This will impact most schools across the East Side of the district including primary, middle, and high schools.
The School Board's Strategic Planning Committee originally selected three redistricting options and gathered input from the public through a survey and three public meetings. That feedback was used to generate two refined proposed plans that were considered at a Strategic Planning Committee meeting on Oct. 24, 2023. The committee considered two further refined redistricting options during a meeting on Nov. 1, 2023 and chose to move forward with one plan.
The full board approved final redistricting maps on November 7, 2023. Those maps are included below. The new attendance zones will go into effect for the 2024-25 school year along with the opening of Prairieville High School.
