We are writing to provide an update regarding the recent PowerSchool cybersecurity incident. Ascension Public Schools continues to actively monitor the situation, and we remain committed to being transparent and proactive in our communication with you.

Late yesterday, PowerSchool notified our Information Technology (IT) Department that Ascension Public Schools (APSB) was among PowerSchool’s many worldwide clients whose data may have been accessed during a cybersecurity incident. They became aware of the incident on December 28, 2024.

We are awaiting more information; however, want to ensure our community is aware that this is an ongoing situation that is being investigated at this time.

We are thrilled to announce that Ascension Public Schools has once again demonstrated exceptional performance on the Louisiana Department of Education's annual District and School Performance Scores! Our district achieved a remarkable District Performance Score (DPS) of 95.8, earning us an "A" rating and placing us as #2 in the state.
