The Ascension Parish School Board will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for St. Amant Middle School's new competition gymnasium on July 14. This project is funded through a dedicated construction millage voters approved in 2024.

Ascension Public Schools has once again earned the distinction of being the #1 school district in Louisiana for the percentage of students in grades 3-12 achieving Mastery and Advanced on state assessments, according to 2025-26 LEAP results released today by the Louisiana Department of Education.
