Ascension Public Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Melissa Sutton as Assistant Principal of APPLe Digital Academy. Sutton brings more than two decades of experience in education, with a deep commitment to supporting student growth and success across a variety of learning environments.

Ascension Public Schools announces the 2025-26 Students of the Year for fifth, eighth, and twelfth grades. These outstanding students will be recognized before the Ascension Parish School Board meeting on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. on the campus of Dutchtown High School.

Ascension Public Schools will hold its annual district-wide high school career and college expo on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025, at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales. Students and parents from all Ascension Parish public and private schools in grades 8 through 12 are invited to attend. 

Ascension Public Schools is proud to announce several new leadership appointments. Kristin Irvin Hollins as the new principal of APPLe Digital Academy, Dineska McZeal as Associate Principal of Prairieville High School, and two new Assistant Principals of East Ascension High School: Cormanda Grace and Caroline LeBlanc.

Ascension Public Schools proudly celebrates the success of its Partners in Education (PIE) program, designed to strengthen collaboration between local businesses and schools. During the 2024-25 school year, 32 businesses stepped up as official Partners in Education. These outstanding partners were honored at the Aug. 14 Ascension Chamber Business Expo luncheon, where one Small Business Partner of the Year and one Large Business Partner of the Year were recognized.
