Ascension Public Schools is one of the largest school districts in Louisiana, and the largest to consistently maintain an “A” rating in the Louisiana Department of Education’s accountability system. The district is the largest employer in the parish with approximately 3,000 employees, including 1,800 teachers. It enrolls 23,400 students in 31 schools and 3 programs.

Ascension Public Schools is hosting job fair for early childhood through 5th grade teachers from 3:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Sugar Mill Primary School and for 6th through 12th grade teachers from 3:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Bluff Middle School.

West Side Supplemental Pay One Year Only
Designated staff at Donaldsonville Primary, Lowery Elementary, Lowery Middle, and Donaldsonville High School are eligible to receive a one year only supplemental pay for the 2022-2023 academic year. This supplemental pay will be distributed to qualified employees incrementally during the 2022-23 school year.
West Side Supplemental Pay One Year Only

To qualify for this supplement, teachers must hold a current certification in the course they teach and have received either the rating of Effective Proficient or Highly Effective on their most recent evaluation.
CORE TEACHERS (ELA, Science, Social Studies, Math, and SpEd) will receive $2500 prior to the beginning of each nine weeks period.
ELECTIVE TEACHERS (ex: Speech, Band, Art, PE, Health, Ag I & Ag II, African American Studies, CTE (IBCA/Quest/Food Science/First Responder/Customer Service/Entrepreneurship/JAG/ProStart/Patient Care Tech))* will receive $650 prior to the beginning of each nine weeks period.
PARAPROFESSIONALS must have either passed the ParaPro Assessment, hold 48 hours of college credit, or hold an associate’s degree, and have received either the rating of Effective Proficient or Highly Effective on their most recent evaluation. Qualifying paraprofessionals will receive $312.50 prior to the beginning of each nine weeks period.
